March Madness

It's getting to be that time of the year when sports attention is directed to the upcoming March Madness basketball tournament.

The Conference tournaments are starting this week and the automatic bids will be handed out to the conference champions. It is always a tense week leading up to Selection Sunday where the 64 teams are announced. As always, the pundits will be analyzing the selections and wonder why such and such a team did not get selected or that such and such a team should not have been seeded where they are seeded.

Once the tournament starts, all of that will be forgotten and the teams will be battling it out to advance to the next bracket. This is a "one and done" tournament and believe me when I say that having a number 1 or 2 seed does not guarantee a win. There have been many upsets over the course of the years and I expect this year will be no exception. Then also, there are the March Madness pools where the pool players make their picks for the whole tournament at the start and then just sit back and see how well their picks selections were. There has never been a perfect bracket and I don't expect there will be one this year. So, sit back and relax...watch the tournament and root for your favorite team.

I'm ready for this tournament...as usual there is no way to pick a sure winner because there have been so many upsets over the course of many years, that it is almost like throwing a dart.
