NFL Moves

Two moves involving the National Football League took place today. The NFL season never ends.

The trade of Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos certainly took me by surprise even though there has been a lot of speculation that Wilson might get traded. As I looked deeper into this situation, the trade should have been predicted because Seattle basically has to rebuild the team considering their performance last year. What better way to rebuild than to get existing players and draft picks in exchange for one or two people. Not to mention that Wilson's salary was hindering their ability to go out and get the needed personnel to rebuild the team. I have a feeling this is the first of the "big" trades coming up this off season.

As for the news about Aaron Rodgers, that was about as unexpected as the sun rising in the east. He played Green Bay like a violin and got what he wanted...a 4 year deal at an annual salary ($50 Million) that makes him the highest paid player in the NFL. At least until the next big extension or signing. It is my opinion that Rodgers never intended to sign with another team...he was using their interest to fuel the Packers in putting together the deal that he got. He's no dummy...
